    The common issue that might happen during grocery shopping is the discomfort of shopping inside when it is packed inside the store that we have to wait in a long line for payment in the cashier. For this issue, the idea I had in my mind for this is the conveyor belt and self-ordering machine. For the convenience of people who are coming for grocery shopping in a supermarket, there will be a self-ordering machine where customers could choose what they want just by using that machine. People might think then what’s the difference with online grocery shopping? While grocery shopping can be more comfortable, sometimes we are unsure about the freshness of the fresh fruit, vegetables, and poultry. Not only that but also the expiration date of a particular product.

    Why a self-ordering machine and conveyor belt? With the combination of these two, customers who came for grocery shopping in the supermarket will have more comfort and convenience activity inside the supermarket. How will this work out? The operation will be like this, the first step for the customer to do is to choose whatever product in that supermarket with the self-ordering machine. In this self-ordering machine, products with the manufacturing date and expiration date will be shown through the screen. After choosing the products, the chosen products will come out from the storage area and be given to the customers through this conveyor belt. For fresh fruits, vegetables, and poultry, after receiving it from the conveyor belt, customers would be able to check it out for freshness beforehand. After making sure of the freshness, then they can proceed to the check-out process for payment. If customers dislike the freshness of the products, they can return them back to the storage area, and it will be set aside for another inspection by the storage worker for its freshness. Aside from the convenience and comfort that customers want, these days with the pandemic, by having this, everyone could apply social distancing and SOPs. 

REFLECTIONS

    For this week's class, we are having an online workshop since we are not able to have a face-to-face class. After 5 individual tasks given to us, the last tasks were given as a group task with random members inside the group. Thankfully, even though it was quite awkward at the first time since there are some of us who have not met each other yet before. But then, after a few minutes, each of us starts to share our own opinion and come out to a conclusion. Each of us in the team works on different tasks accordingly. As a result, we also could have a smooth presentation.
