MEDIUM - RACKS

For the medium itself which is the rack, there will be different types of racks for different sizes and printing medium. The first one will be the rotating rack, this type of rack will be used for A1 sized photographs printed on a canvas. This particular rack will not be rotating continuously, but instead, it will be staying for two to three minutes for audiences to see and feel the artworks by staying in the same place without moving. Why is it that the photograph is moving instead of the audiences moving? While in a usual exhibition, people would go around to see the photographs that are placed in a fixed position. The rotating racks are made for the photographs to be shown in a different position in a particular space. This is for audiences to experience something new and different from others. In this case, audiences would be able to just stay still in a certain place for a longer time or they could move around to see the photographs in less than two minutes. How will this rotating rack work? The point of rotation will be two, inside and outside of the main system part of the rack. (as shown in the picture below) It will move automatically accordingly to the direction of both clockwise and anticlockwise. An automatic rail will be used as the system for the rack to be able to move around. The material that is used to hang the printed canvas photographs is not a single thin string, but instead, a metal pipe that is designed accordingly for the canvas photograph to be hanged without moving due to wind motion while it rotates. Topics for the photographs will change every two weeks which means that photographs will be exhibited for two weeks long. After the exhibition, the photographs will be displayed in digital media for audiences that missed the exhibition. Furthermore, the photographs themselves can be given to the owners which are the photographers. Or they could just let us keep the printed photographs in case for future needs for the museum.

The second rack will be the still rack, this rack will be used for A0 sized photographs printed on satin paper and it will be framed. One of the best photograph taken for a certain topic will be printed and exhibited in this rack. How do we know which one is the best? For that two weeks of the exhibition, audiences would be able to vote for their favourite artworks. Hence, we would be able to know which artwork has the most votes and this artwork will be exhibited for another two weeks in this rack.

The third rack will be the hanging rack, this rack will be used for A0 sized photographs printed on fabric. The photographs in this rack, it will be chosen by the curator of the museum from the exhibited photographs in the rotating rack and the chosen photographs will be exhibited for one month long. After the exhibition, these printed fabrics will be sold or as a giveaway to the audiences.
