Programming + Site

Programming

    The programming that I plan to have inside the space is shown in the diagram above. These are the explanations regarding each of the programs:

A)    Foyer - entrance area and reception

B)    Cafe - selling drinks for audiences to purchase and enjoy while going around the space                                   inside

C)    Photo Exhibition - the main area, where the photography exhibition takes place

D)    Digital Gallery - history and knowledge about photography, photographs that have been                                                      exhibited for a certain time will be displayed digitally

E)     Lens Refraction Showcase - light refraction on different lens design

F)     Materials Display - display of  the raw materials of the camera body in a certain medium to                                                         let audiences feel and touch it with their senses

G)    Photo Studio - self-portrait studio and studio renting service

H)    Printery - printing service

I)      Store - selling limited goodies for visitors

J)     Depository - storage

Site Factors

    These are the factors that I need to consider while choosing the site for my gallery. The first one would be the natural lighting, I would like my space to have enough natural lighting coming into it to help with my space programming as some of it needs it. Next, it will be the surrounding of the site, it will be better if it is not surrounded by high rise buildings, but instead, the surroundings are low rise buildings or empty land with trees. Lastly, a site with a high ceiling with a minimum of 3000MM high.

REFLECTIONS

    This week is an independent learning week, so I started to do my programming and site factors on choosing the sites.
