Site Factors

Factors that I need to consider while choosing the site for aJPEGallery:

1. Enough natural lighting coming into the space that is needed for some of the programmings.
2. Site surroundings are mostly either trees/park or low-rise building.
3. High ceiling or double volume space is possible.

Site 1 (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) - CHOSEN SITE

This area is where a lot of people pass by since there are a few well-known cafes within a 1km radius and around the corner. Target audiences will be more from young adults to adults. Easy transportation (public transportation such as MRT).

 Site 2 (Batam, Indonesia)

I chose this land for this area because there are a lot of people passing by here, it's easy to access, and having the gallery to be built around here would be something new in the town. This could attract everyone's eye when they pass by this area.

Site 3 (Puncak Alam, Malaysia)

This area called eco grandeur is being developed by Ecoworld, they have developed a housing complex, shophouse, and mall around here. I chose this site, it's for people to come to visit for a short getaway or vacation from the city. This area could be the new trending place for people to come around.

Site 4 (Johor Bahru, Malaysia)

For this particular site, it is in a cultural street. The site is located in the middle of the commercial hub with eateries during the day. Meanwhile, the voids around the area are used for the bazaar. There are a lot of locals and tourists coming here.

REFLECTIONS

At this time of the week, I started to share the sites that I have searched under consideration to my tutor. It is definitely not an easy task to do, since what I can do is to search it from my experiences (either it is a place I have visited or a place that I know) and the internet. After days of sharing my sites with the tutor, the final site has not been chosen. Since there are a lot of things to consider.
