aJPEGallery   Rotating Rack     Prototype Model:       Information Board:              Problem Statement             Having a photography exhibition for professional photographers might be a common case, but not for amateur photographers. Professional photographers have the advantages of having more audiences, incomes, and sponsorship to have a personal exhibition. Meanwhile, that is not the case for amateur photographers.         Solution                By creating a space where even amateur could exhibit their artworks, anyone could share their untold stories or memories through photographs by having it exhibited in this medium called the “rotating rack”.         Purpose           To let anyone have the chance to exhibit their untold stories and memories through photographs printed with the same quality and shown in the same digital display. This leads audiences to feel, experience, and relate to the photographs.         Function                This rack will rotate in two different

ABANDONED PHOTOGRAPHY GALLERY Issue     The issue that I have discovered from my topic, photography, is about the photographs taken by the photographer. Photographs taken by both professional and amateur photographers can be posted for audiences through social media such as Instagram, VSCO, and more. But then, p hotographs that are posted on the social media outcome will have different textures and colors outcome in different digital media. The difference in the range of the audience can be seen through likes and comments on their posts. For professional photographers, they can broaden their audiences even more by having an exhibition. Professional would be able to hold their own exhibitions from their own incomes and sponsorship. On top of that, they can have a successful exhibition due to the number of audiences they have. Meanwhile, for amateurs, it's rather hard for them to hold their own exhibition.      By sighting the photographs, audiences will use their senses to admire th

WEEK 04 - FORUM 04

FORUM 04 "TO INVENT A FUTURE THAT DOESN'T EXIST, YOU REALLY HAVE TO UNDERSTAND WHAT PEOPLE ARE DOING TODAY AND COMPLETELY RE-IMAGINE IT." - Bill Burnett, exec. director of design, Stanford University's D.School  Question: What/how would you do to create or establish this 'new idea'. How can this help with your current design project? Ideas could come up suddenly while we are doing other activities such as our daily activities, hobbies, and more. In my case, choosing the topic for my current project comes up from my own hobby which is photography. For photography itself, I came up with different kinds of ideas due to my own experiences and also other people out there who have different experiences with photography. Every photographer out there has their own goal or target. They are reaching for different kind of things in this field. What they photographs are all different things as well with different objects, subjects, and perspectives. By watching and ob

ISSUE 5W+1H  MEDIUM - RACKS      For the medium itself which is the rack, there will be different types of racks for different sizes and printing medium. The first one will be the rotating rack, this type of rack will be used for A1 sized photographs printed on a canvas. This particular rack will not be rotating continuously, but instead, it will be staying for two to three minutes for audiences to see and feel the artworks by staying in the same place without moving. Why is it that the photograph is moving instead of the audiences moving? W hile in a usual exhibition, people would go around to see the photographs that are placed in a fixed position. The rotating racks are made for the photographs to be shown in a different position in a particular space. This is for audiences to experience something new and different from others. In this case, audiences would be able to just stay still in a certain place for a longer time or they could move around to see the photographs in less than

ABANDONED PHOTOGRAPHY MUSEUM     The picture above shows the four lenses that have been chosen during my research for different types of optical lens design. Users only know different type of lenses with the different types of aperture that each of the lenses had but most of them did not know what kind of optical lenses are being used inside the camera lens. Here, I would like to show audiences how light refracts through the different types of lenses.      The main raw materials used in the camera's body are these two, which are polycarbonate and lens. P olycarbonate compound, containing 10-20% glass fibre. This material is very durable, lightweight, and shock-resistant as well as tolerant to humidity and temperature changes. Its major disadvantage is that it is not resistant to chemicals. The polycarbonate is moulded to very specific tolerances because the internal workings of the camera must fit precisely to work well and to use the strength of the chassis for protection agains

ONLINE WORKSHOP - DESIGN THINKING FORUM 03      The common issue that might happen during grocery shopping is the discomfort of shopping inside when it is packed inside the store that we have to wait in a long line for payment in the cashier. For this issue, the idea I had in my mind for this is the conveyor belt and self-ordering machine. For the convenience of people who are coming for grocery shopping in a supermarket, there will be a self-ordering machine where customers could choose what they want just by using that machine. People might think then what’s the difference with online grocery shopping? While grocery shopping can be more comfortable, sometimes we are unsure about the freshness of the fresh fruit, vegetables, and poultry. Not only that but also the expiration date of a particular product.      Why a self-ordering machine and conveyor belt? With the combination of these two, customers who came for grocery shopping in the supermarket will have more comfort and convenie

WEEK 02 - FORUM 02

FORUM 02 "Design adds value faster than it adds costs."  - Joel Spolsky, web programmer, writer, and creator of Trello. Sometimes we heard people say, "why should I pay for design? ANYONE can design..."  The idea of design is always being narrowed down with statements saying that design is simply an action that ANYONE can do.  How do we, as designers can overcome that?      From what I experienced throughout the semesters as well as the internship, designers existed for them to help people to be able to live with more comfort and efficiency. There are cases where friends or relatives asked to design something and they want it for free or in a low-priced payment. Here, the problem is different kinds of works or designs require different times for it to be done, therefore payment will be different as well. Not only payment but different designers also have their own manual or principal. As designers, we can overcome that by having positive thoughts while accepting the

SKETCH DEVELOPMENT - TUTORIAL (6 APRIL)     The main topic I chose is 'photographs'. The issue that I found during my research is about professional or the 'popular' photographer posting their photographs on a social media platform called Instagram. Not only professional photographers but 'unpopular' photographers (such as people who just started photography) also posted their artworks on this social media platform. But the number of audiences for both of them is so much different from the ratio of 4:1 (popular:unpopular). The reason why is because professional or popular photographers have these verified icons in their profile for this social media platform where they can boost up the number of the audiences with the help of that icon.      From the point of view of the audiences, they see the photographs through their display screen and each of them has different kinds of media for them to see the photos. This leads for a photograph to be seen in different col
